Project Team

  1. Dr. Catalin Negreaproject director, Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Space Science in Romania. His research activity is primarily focused on the study of the thermosphere−ionosphere, using both remote sensing data and numerical model results. He is particularly interested in the forcings of the system and their impact, as well as internal mechanisms for transport of energy and momenta, primarily gravity waves and associated travelling ionospheric disturbances. Related to this, he developed several new techniques for data analysis and processing, specifically in the areas of spectral and statistical analysis.

  2. Dr. Sabina Stefan − mentor, Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest, Romania. Her research activity is focused on meteorology and climatology dynamics, lower and upper atmosphere physics, air quality and environment pollution dynamics. She published 70 scientific papers in refereed journals and 8 books. She coordinated multiple national and international research projects.
Research supported by the Romanian Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding through the Postdoctoral Research Programme under contract 1041/07.05.2018-SATA.
